Fungal skin infections develop in damp, sweaty areas that aren’t exposed to much airflow. The most common skin infection that occurs on the feet is Tinea Pedis, commonly known as Athlete’s Foot. Mostly occurring between the toes, it can also occur on the soles of the foot. Whilst Tinea Pedis generally isn’t a serious condition, it is highly contagious and can cause discomfort, itching, or dryness.

Causes:

Tinea Pedis is the result of a fungal infection acquired through public pools, showers or gyms or sharing of personal care items.
